Dustin Schmidly Obituary

Springield, Missouri, is in mourning following the sudden passing of one of the most respected health insurance brokers, Dustin Schmidly. A lifelong resident of Ozark, Missouri, he spent his last few years helping so many people with his work at Hometown Benefits Group.

Schmidly studied Exercise Science at Ozarks Technical Community College. He also attended Ozark High School. He spent his career, and really life, in service to others—giving many years to Little League. As he wrote in his LinkedIn profile, “He wakes up every day wanting to make somebody else’s day better, no question.”.

His passing has come as a rude shock to the family, friends, and colleagues. This is attested to by the wife, Ellie Schmidly, in her sorrowful post on Facebook, with deep appreciation for the love and support during these trying times.

A celebration of life will be held on February 7th, 2025, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, located at 2210 W. Republic Road in Springfield, Missouri 65807. The family visitation hour will start at 10 a.m., with the service being held at 11:30 a.m.

Just as surely as the community mourns, so too will the legacy of kindness, professionalism, and service to others that Schmidly left behind be remembered by all who knew him.
