Madelyn Ker Obituary: A sad accident occurred Monday evening in Niagara Falls when a 16-year-old girl named Madelyn Ker died in a two-vehicle collision, which turned over one of them. It occurred around 6:30 p.m. between Beechwood and Townline roads on Thorold Stone Road.
She was driving westbound in her gray Hyundai Accent when she lost control of the vehicle, with lethal consequences. Crossing into oncoming traffic, the vehicle was then struck by a black Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 32-year-old woman. The force of the collision rolled the Hyundai onto its side. The emergency responders arrived quickly and administered aid to both drivers.
Rescue efforts were made, but Madelyn was rushed to the nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries and was pronounced dead. The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for further observation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS). Among the items police are looking at are speed, road conditions, and possible distractions that might have contributed to the fatal crash.
Family, friends, and community will always remember Madelyn as a shining light and because of her giving nature. Her family is taking actions to hold funeral services in honor of her life, although many details are to be announced in due time for the family in morning.
Meanwhile, as investigations carry on, the police appeal for anyone who could have information relating to the occurrence to come forth.
A formal obituary for Madelyn Ker will be released along with the funeral arrangements.
