Jackson Lane Obituary: The community of Midlothian, Virginia, is in a state of bereavement, suffering from the terrible loss of Jackson Southall Lane, taken far too soon on January 25, 2025, at just 30 years young. Husband, father, son, and to so many more, friend—that void he left is irreplaceable in so many lives of people who knew him and loved him.
Jackson was more than just a loving member of the family; he was a man of passion, kindness, and extreme devotion to those he loved. The greatest joy Jackson had in his life was being a father to his son Noah, whom he loved beyond words. Whether he was coaching baseball, fixing golf clubs at Boomer’s Golf Garage, or just enjoying the great outdoors, he did it with vigor and enthusiasm.
Born January 12, 1995, to Mark Lane and Diana Rathbun, Jackson grew up in Midlothian and was a graduate of Manchester High School before going on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications from Christopher Newport University, where he also played baseball. His love for the game was not only on the field but continued off it as he coached young athletes, instilling the same passion and sportsmanship he held for the game within them.
Aside from baseball, Jackson loved golfing and fishing; one could always find him on the course perfecting his swing or out on the water with his dad and buddies. His love for Philadelphia Eagles football and Nottingham Forest F.C. in soccer was a constant in his life, always fueling lively conversations and unwavering team pride.
With his great sense of humor and infectious spirit, Jackson is a joy to be around. Whether tending a fire in the backyard, watching birds with binoculars, or simply sitting down and sharing a laugh with some friends and family, he really made each moment very special.
