Nate Mulak Obituary: Nathaniel Mulak died in a crash at the intersection of S U.S. Highway 1 and Southeast Crosstown Parkway. Authorities said the fatal collision occurred about 10:20 p.m.
According to deputies, Mulak was riding a 2023 BMW motorcycle in the outer northbound lane of S U.S. Highway 1 with a group of fellow motorcyclists when a 2022 GMC pickup was traveling in the inside lane while a 2013 Honda sedan was traveling in the center lane.
The police report said Mulak tried to merge into the left-turn lanes of S U.S. Highway 1 from the outside lane. He failed to notice the rest of the motorcyclists ahead of him had already turned into the turn lanes to head westbound onto Southeast Crosstown Parkway. As he did, his motorcycle sideswiped the Honda, which caused a horrible chain reaction.
The force of the impact threw him from the bike and directly into the path of an oncoming GMC pickup, which struck him. He was immediately rushed by emergency responders to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, where despite all best efforts, he was pronounced dead at 11:45 p.m.
The driver of the Stuart-based Honda, a woman, was not injured. Nor was the GMC pickup driver: a man from Port St. Lucie. How this collision came about is being investigated. Nathaniel Mulak’s untimely death leaves his many family members and friends to mourn a life gone too soon.
